How to Use Breathing Exercises to Calm Your Nerves for Black Women

Good day to you, star shine; I am so happy that you have landed here today. No matter how many obstacles you may encounter throughout your days, you have still managed to take charge and commit to your healing process, bravo! It has been said that black women are the most disrespected people in the world, and this trauma is stored within our bodies. Having to constantly bend and fold while being a solid support system for everyone else in your world is draining. Trust me, I know. Where do you go to be soft? Who is there to offer you support in your time of need? It's time to stop holding your breath.

If you are new to breathwork, I advise you to begin slowly and take your time. Breathwork is a branch of vast yoga practices with thousands of variations, but we will keep things simple today. Taking the time to breathe allows you to shift your perspective, trigger your parasympathetic system, and reduce cortisol levels. You have made a choice today to nurture yourself, and I couldn't be more proud. It is important to remember that your breath supports you daily without asking for anything in return. Without your breath, where would you be? It's time to deepen your connection.

Be sure to find a place where you feel comfortable and safe. Remember, if you ever start to feel overwhelmed, you may pause. I am so excited to be with you on your journey!
